" You're not perfect, sport, and let me save you the suspense: this girl you've met, she's not perfect either. But the question is whether or not you're perfect for each other." -Robin Williams
This is one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite movies, Good Will Hunting. This quote actually inspired me to get into the business of taking pictures. Relationships are the reason I love photography. The dynamics between two people are never the same and that makes each session unique. The fact that we are all flawed but somehow seem to find the perfect match in someone who is willing to love us despite those flaws is amazing. Someone once told me that life is what you make of it and in 2012 I can admit that my life is pretty darn good.
I witnessed a lot this year. I had the honor of watching my son grow and turn 1 this year. I saw grooms cry, bridesmaids act silly, and brides marry the one they could not live without. I also saw family members smile , high five each other, and love one another. I captured loved ones handling military separation with grace and smiles, saw high school seniors stoked to finally graduate, and I saw a couple sell all of their belongings to travel the world in a once in a lifetime opportunity. I saw a couple who moved there wedding to a different state 2 days before they said I do because of Hurricane Sandy. I made my 10 year pilgrimage to (what my wife may call my first love) to see the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. I went on a vacation with my wife and son to the very beach where we exchanged our vows 3 years ago. I also shot with some amazing photographers in Gabe Aceves, Nessa K, Fer Juasti, Kat Braman, Caroline Ghetes, Brad Ross Cohen, Sarah Der and Amber Wilkie. These people are not just my contemporaries but also my friends. I hope to have caught enough moments in 2012 to make 2011 jealous and make 2013 excited of whats to come. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your lives with me and allowing me to capture that with my camera.
