Depression

I have read one culinary book in my life and it was Kitchen Confidential. Depression has no bounds and seeks everyone. If you know someone who is suffering from depression then befriend them and become their advocate.

Over the last few days, I have read a ton of people who stepped out today and shared their stories of depression and suicidal thoughts. I want to say to the people who have not had those thoughts: it shouldn't take a famous person or two to commit suicide for us to wake up and realize that those who we are friends with are going through the same struggle. You have friends in your timeline who are struggling with depression and could use a friend. Don't post about how sad you are about Anthony Bourdain or Kate Spade when you haven't reached out to a real life friend who may be going through the same thing. 2018 is the year of rebuilding and cultivating relationships. Don't live with regret that you didn't stop to get a cup of coffee with someone you know/love becuase you thought posting on their Facebook wall was good enough.
