The Excuse Business

I need you to hear me out on this, seriously, hear me out on it.  I just spent a week in Vancouver with some incredible people at This is Arc, a  photography conference for creatives. I gave a presentation and had a ton of great conversations with different people. Some of you who I spoke with tried to convince me that some of the tactics that you had learned at the conference might not work for you. You have already made an excuse before you had even tried it.

This happens to a lot of people in life. It is not just the photography business. We have spent a lot of time talking ourselves out of stuff because we are afraid to fail. We are afraid that someone might say no to us. We are afraid of being considered a failure. Don't run away from it. Embrace it.

Let me ask you this, when was the last time you made an excuse to do something? If you want to achieve whatever you want to achieve in life then you can not be in the business of making excuses.
